The appearance of Shri Krishn, celebrated with a midnight abhishek and nandotsav the next morning.

The temple stays open through the night for Janmashtami. Kirtan and katha lead up to the midnight abhishek of Yugal Kishor Juu, followed by the first darshan of the newborn Lord.

Nandotsav follows the next morning with dahi-handi, turmeric and gifts distributed to all, as in Nand Baba's house in Gokul.
